i'm definitely going to try and cliff notes this, because i really didn't do a ton of anything and, in fact, found myself bored multiple times while i was in port charlotte. that was my own lack of foresight for not bringing a book. i don't read the same things as my mom and jenny, and suzy was reading MY books, so yeah. though i did watch a ton of tv. that was new.

the things i did for 4th of july weekend:

1. drove a really long way with travis whining in the background about "are we in port charlotte yet?" umm, no. travis, we've been on the interstate for about 5 minutes.
2. stayed up way too late because stupid sister suzy wanted me to pick her up from the party she said later on i was invited to. um, yeah, let me attend a party with a bunch of boozing people i don't know. joy.
3. shopped WAY too much. however, the slip and slide, fireworks, water guns, misc. groceries, alcohol, movies, and all the rest of the crap i bought were all greatly appreciated. that, and i had fun shopping.
4. went on a very short failed fishing trip. nothing was biting except for mosquitoes. i have the welts to prove it.
5. i rocked the grill for the 4th.
6. everyone agreed i rocked the grill.
7. spent the time digesting that particular grill session watching reruns of 90210 and pondering how i can go from smoking absolutely nothing to smoking a pack a day in no time flat. yeah, me bad. i only smoke when i go to concerts, fishing, and port charlotte. go figure.
8. decided that the port charlotte fireworks FAIL. set off the illegal fireworks i bought to the wonder of the kiddies.
9. huh. i don't remember what i did sunday.
10. learned how to play tennis. well, how to watch other people play tennis. go serena. go federer. go me, i played tennis on the wii. and bowling. and boxing. and golf.
11. travis played star wars on the wii with rafe. there was fun to bed had.
12. gave sister shit for gray hairs.
13. gave other sister shit for lack of college registering.
14. gave that sister more shit for marijuana.
15. and even more shit for being the only person to take a whack at her hair for the past 2 years.
16. dyed sister suzy's hair. flat black, sigh. it does nothing for her, she looks so great in this deep purple red that could have black low lights. but not just flat black all over.
17. and a manicure complete with acrylic tips. because i like doing that. don't do it perfectly, but i do it well enough.
18. cut mom's hair. one of best cuts ever.
19. watched danny phantom reruns.
20. and a how it's made marathon.
21. rocked grill a second time. (i plan on sharing recipe's in a different journal.)
22. took siblings to ihop. they're all pigs. all of them.
23. somehow agreed to sell crap on e-bay for my stepdad.
24. the tooth incident. read below.
25. and came home.

just tired. didn't get enough sleep over the weekend because i'm naturally nocturnal and was trying to accommodate that as well as my need to be up during daylight, too. *shrug* it was a lot of fun, and i'll wind up buying a wii eventually i'm sure. but other than that, it was basically pretty laid back with the tv, some smokes, and some wine coolers. internet failed because the comp at mom's was so slow, and i hate that effing ergonomic keyboard. so no writing. but i have plans. hope everyone's 4th was fun and had better fireworks!

travis, odd little creature that he is, just lost his first tooth yesterday. he's six, and i tell you i was not prepared for this. moreso when i mention that the tooth was loosened for him and then plucked out as he slept. i'm actually pretty pissed and, annoyingly enough, my mother doesn't understand why.

so the basic story goes like this. some time on monday afternoon, either while playing outside or getting an early bath, travis got hit/hit himself/banged his mouth and wound up with a loose tooth. i, naturally, was traumatized, because it's his first. and there was blood everywhere. lol. however, sister vic (10) kept trying to fiddle with it. i finally got on her ass and told her to leave it alone, since i know it can hurt and cause a mess to wiggle the tooth out too early. so she does.

lo and behold, the little brat woke up at like 4am tuesday morning and started wiggling it out of his sleeping mouth until she pulled it out. and then she usurped my tooth fairy rights by tossing him a random assortment of change and a buck.

i think that it's understandable that i'm not happy about it. i mean, for one, i told her to leave it be. sure the tooth could have been lost or swallowed, sure it didn't hurt him to have it out now, but dammit, i told her to leave it alone. and she just went on behind my back. but i'm more pissed because i had to sit there and figure out some half assed story so that travis would accept a 2nd visit from the tooth fairy after we got him.

of course he was less enthusiastic because she'd already visited him once. i'm just so damned mad at that girl. i would really like to smack her upside her head and ask her what the hell was she thinking to ruin it for me. he's my ONLY child. he's never going to have a first loose tooth, or a first lost tooth, and she completely fucked it up for me.

*sigh* i'm unhappy about that.

i finally watched it, after travis told me a dozen and a half times how it ended. *shakes head* but i have to say, for the most part, i didn't like it. the bits with marley misbehaving were more annoying than interesting or entertaining, mostly because the better instances (across the baseball field for one) were glossed over so quickly it's not funny. doubt i'll watch it again, but it was good for a single go.

in other movie news, push came out yesterday. i bought it and returned it because i couldn't stomach spending money on the movie. that's alright, i'm planning on trying to suck it up and buying it again. i reeeeeally wanna see it.
